OpenAI Launches Astra for Law & Anthropic Optimizes 30+ Biology Models & Cisco Patches Critical ISE Zero-Day & Azure Payment HSM v2 Ships

OpenAI introduces GPT-6 Astra configured for legal workflows, Anthropic accelerates biomolecular modeling with Claude optimization, Cisco patches actively exploited zero-day in ISE with CVSS 10.0, and Microsoft delivers cloud-scale payment security with Azure Payment HSM v2.

AI & ML

  • OpenAI launches Astra for Law, combining GPT-6 Astra with legal-grade settings, tools, and context built for law firms. Available initially through Trusted Access in ChatGPT and Codex; API access (gpt-6-astra-law) coming soon with zero data retention and eyes-off human review for enterprise customers. Read more
  • Anthropic reports Claude optimized 30+ open-source biomolecular models for structure prediction, protein design, and genomics tasks, achieving ~4x speedup with minimal precision loss and ~2x speedup with identical outputs. Release includes 36 drop-in optimization kits under Apache 2.0 license targeting NVIDIA H100 GPUs. Read more

AI Coding Tools

  • ABP Framework introduces ABP Agent, an AI coding assistant integrated into ABP Studio that understands ABP solutions natively. Operates in three modes across the development loop—architecture, coding, and review—eliminating context switching between editor, runner, monitor, and Git. Read more
  • Developers are adopting multi-agent workflows instead of relying on single AI tools; survey data shows engineers spend 11.4 hours/week reviewing AI code vs. 9.8 hours writing it, driving adoption of platforms like LangGraph, CrewAI, and CLI agents like Claude Code. Read more

DevOps & Cloud

  • Calix expands Agent Workforce Cloud with AI-powered workflows for broadband service providers, adding subscriber segmentation, targeted marketing, personalized offers, and AI-assisted troubleshooting that combines subscriber/network data. Platform runs on Calix One (processes 1 PB/day, executes 4.3B workflows/year). Read more
  • Microsoft, Marvell, and Utimaco announce Azure Payment HSM v2, a cloud-native payment security platform combining Marvell LiquidSecurity HSMs, Utimaco Atalla Payments Module, and Azure infrastructure. Public preview begins September 17, 2026 in Western U.S. and Western Europe; designed for PCI compliance without on-premise HSM management. Read more

Security

  • Cisco discloses CVE-2026-76460, a maximum-severity authentication bypass (CVSS 10.0) in Cisco ISE affecting network access control. Insufficient API endpoint controls allow unauthenticated remote attackers to execute commands as root. Actively exploited; CISA added to Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog requiring Federal agencies to patch by September 19. Read more
  • Cisco issues patches for 20 CVEs in ISE (12 critical), 18 in Firewall Management Center (8 critical), and 6 in Nexus Dashboard, addressing remote code execution, command injection, authentication bypasses, and SQL injection. Also patched CVE-2026-76461 (CVSS 9.8) in Secure Email Gateway actively exploited since August. Read more
  • Google confirms zero-click modem exploit CVE-2026-58704 (CVSS 8.0) in Pixel phones was exploited in limited, targeted attacks before September 2026 patch. Logic error enables privilege escalation from modem sandbox without user interaction; September bulletin addresses 110 total vulnerabilities including 46 critical-severity flaws. Read more
  • Microsoft patches three max-severity Azure identity vulnerabilities: CVE-2026-83711 (Azure AD B2C, CWE-639 authorization bypass, CVSS 10.0), CVE-2026-70352 (Azure AI Language, missing authentication, CVSS 10.0), and CVE-2026-83941 (Azure SRE Agent, privilege escalation). All allow unauthenticated network access. Read more

Open Source

  • Anthropic releases optimization kits for 30+ open-source biology models under Apache 2.0 on GitHub, enabling faster inference with minimal accuracy loss. Includes drop-in kits for NVIDIA H100, A100, H200, B200, B300 GPUs; prebuilt Docker and Apptainer images planned within week. Read more
  • Helical Insight, an open-source BI platform with built-in AI analytics, reaches 1,000 GitHub stars after making all enterprise features (conversational analytics, SSO, embedded reporting, row-level security) permanently free in Community Edition. Read more
  • Pinecone open-sources VQ-Bench, a vector quantization framework for benchmarking quantizers. MIT-licensed repository includes Rust CLI tool (vqb), public website with running benchmark of popular quantizers, and paper presented at VecDB@VLDB 2026. Read more
  • Roku makes Roku LT OS open-source via GitHub, enabling developers to build smart devices (cameras, doorbells, remotes, lights, thermostats) compatible with Roku's streaming platform. Also partnering with San Jose State University for "LT Racing" project integrating the OS into race car systems. Read more
